Life class progress
Anyone following this blog (anyone..?!) will know that I was planning to start a life drawing class. Well, I’m about half way through now so I thought I’d post a few of my pieces from the class.
I’m enjoying my time there and relishing the warm ups and drawing exercises as I’ve never had any proper tuition before, other than from books, so it’s real nice having a very knowledgeable artist to give advice and critique – so thanks Scott!
I was thrown a bit of a curve ball – I expected to be mainly using pencil, pen, charcoal etc.. but we have been doing a lot of painting – something I’ve not done since my school days. It’s nice though, I’m slowly getting the hang of using paint. We have also been doing some mixed media pieces where we get a minute with graphite, a minute with a pastel, a minute with paint… which results in some interesting work!
I’m working towards a traditional animation too at the moment, right now I’m still developing the character design, but eventually I hope to put up a kind of making-of post…
Here are a few of my pieces from the class…
